LAKE OCONEE ACADEMY FOUNDATION COMMEMORATES 10 YEARS OF DENIM & DIAMONDS SUCCESS
Lake Oconee Academy (LOA) and the Lake Oconee Academy Foundation (LOAF) celebrated a decade of philanthropy with their 10th annual Denim & Diamonds fundraiser on March 2, 2024. Hosted at Collins Farm in Greensboro, GA, the event attracted over 350 attendees, fostering camaraderie, culinary delights, and charitable giving. More than a fundraiser, Denim & Diamonds symbolizes the community's dedication to nurturing aspirations, transforming lives, and fostering the ongoing progress of Lake Oconee Academy.
Kendra Van Mol, Director of the LOAF, expressed her pride, "I am immensely proud to have been part of orchestrating this remarkable event. My commitment to this school, community, and Titan Family is profound. The overwhelming support from our sponsors, volunteers, and attendees was truly inspiring. This year's event exuded an unmatched vibrancy and enthusiasm, crafting an unparalleled experience."
During the event, Dr. Brad Bowling, Executive Director of LOA, and Ansley Vinson, LOAF chair, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Tommy Jeffords for his six years of dedicated service on the LOAF Board. Jeffords' unwavering commitment has significantly enriched the foundation's mission and impact, embodying a spirit of generosity and dedication.
Denim & Diamonds owes much of its success to the dedication of a committed group of volunteers, including business owners, community members, LOA faculty, and parents. Their efforts in venue setup, silent auction management, event promotion, decor creation, and ticket sales were invaluable. Also, the lively performance by the band Haywire ensured a night filled with laughter, dancing, and joy.
Dr. Bowling extended heartfelt thanks to all contributors, including Todd and Julie Collins, for generously providing their property, and Title Sponsors—Juturna, The Executives/TCB Storage, and Affinity Outdoor Living. Special recognition was given to Cornerstone VIP Cocktail Sponsor, BankSouth, and all other generous supporters. He also commended Kendra Van Mol and the dedicated volunteers for their hard work and commitment, which ensured the event's success.
The LOAF, an independent 501(c)(3), supports LOA students, teachers, coaches, and administrators by raising private funds for various school activities, supplies, and facilities. Previous initiatives have included providing library books, a piano lab, broadcasting equipment, updated technology, travel scholarships, and completing a new fine arts building. Donations to LOAF directly impact students' educational experiences, enriching learning opportunities and fostering growth in a nurturing environment.
